My interim studies are in the process of being scheduled with committee chairs. I look forward to addressing these topics and determining whether legislation should be drafted.

25-038

High School grade level classification, based on earned credits

Oklahoma does not currently have specific requirements for classifying high school students’ grade level. This study will review existing practices in districts across the state and attempt to determine if the lack of standard grade level classification has any impact on education outcomes, parent engagement, or transfers between districts. Should standardization be recommended, the study will seek to understand how standardization should be implemented.

25-040

Retail price transparency requirements including all fees and taxes

This study seeks to evaluate whether changes to the way product prices are displayed, such as including taxes and fees, has benefits for consumers and/or businesses. The study will look at the feasibility of implementation and enforcement including whether any industries, products, or business types would need specialized guidelines.

25-042

Protection and compensation framework for minors in monetized online content

Online content creation allows more people than ever to generate income on a variety of platforms. This rapidly growing industry can be beneficial for creators, businesses, advertisers, and online platforms. This study seeks to explore potential policies to provide protections for children being used in monetized online content including ensuring access to a portion of funds received from the content they appear in.
