The recents allegations from last week's OSDE meeting are being investigated. I am continuing to stay in contact with my colleagues about this and any possible next steps. I have gone over the impeachment statute and my office is now reviewing previous calls for investigation and impeachment.
Interim studies have been approved and I am working with committee chairs to schedule my studies. I encourage constituents with questions about interim studies to reach out to my office.
Last week I attended a webinar for state legislators about data centers. I am hopeful that the information and resources I received will be helpful in continuing the conversations about data centers in Oklahoma.
Over the weekend I had the opportunity to attend the Oklahoma Institute for Child Advocacy's annual Heroes Ball Gala in Oklahoma City. OICA was launched in 1983 following a media report about abuse of children in state custody. The serve to raise awareness and support policies for the betterment of Oklahoma's children.
I had to make an unexpected trip to Durant, OK yesterday. Rep. Cody Maynard was able to give me several local restaurant suggestions and point me to their library. At Donald W. Reynolds Library of Durant, OK I met Director Robbee Tonubbee who welcomed me in and told me a little about the library and community. She also seconded Rep. Maynard's suggestion to stop for lunch at Villegas. I am so glad I did! The tacos were delicious and the staff was great.
I have upcoming meetings with various constituents and groups the remainder of the week. On Saturday, I have invited the neighborhood association leaders in Tulsa to meet with me to share the concerns of their community.
